Remove from heat and pour into a heatproof bowl or jar to cool completely at room temperature. This glaze can be prepared several days in advance and stored in the refrigerator. 2. Prepare Ingredients: Rinse and thoroughly dry cherry or grape tomatoes. Meticulously drain and gently pat dry fresh mozzarella balls. Gently wash and pat extremely dry fresh basil leaves (tear larger leaves if needed). 3. Assemble Skewers: Thread one mozzarella ball, then a folded basil leaf, and finally one cherry or grape tomato onto each of 20-25 small wooden skewers or toothpicks. 4. Drizzle and Serve: Arrange all assembled Caprese skewers neatly on a large serving platter. Just before serving, generously drizzle with the cooled balsamic glaze. Optionally, lightly drizzle 1-2 tbsp high-quality extra virgin olive oil over the skewers. Finish everything off with a delicate sprinkle of flaky sea salt and a fresh grind of black pepper.
