Deep Fried Snickers Bars: A Decadent Treat You Must Try

  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy the irresistible combination of crispy batter and gooey Snickers in these deep-fried treats. Perfect for parties or a fun dessert, they’re dusted with powdered sugar and can be served with ice cream or chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Snickers bars
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until well mixed.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine. If desired, fold in the breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  4. Set the batter aside for about 10-15 minutes to thicken slightly.
  5. Unwrap the Snickers bars and cut them in half. Alternatively, leave them whole for a larger treat.
  6. Place the cut Snickers bars on a plate lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  7. In a deep frying pan or heavy-bottomed pot, pour enough vegetable oil to submerge the Snickers bars (about 2-3 inches).
  8. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a kitchen thermometer or drop a small amount of batter into the oil; if it sizzles and rises, the oil is ready.
  9. Dip each Snickers bar into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let excess batter drip off.
  10. Carefully place the battered Snickers bars into the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding. Fry in batches if necessary.
  11. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to turn them gently.
  12. Remove the fried bars from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  13. Dust the warm bars with powdered sugar for a sweet finish.
  14. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an indulgent treat.
  15. Enjoy with friends or family for a delightful dessert experience!

Notes

  • For an extra crunchy texture, consider adding breadcrumbs to the batter.
  • Ensure the oil is at the right temperature to achieve a crispy coating without absorbing too much oil.
