- 1 bottle (750 ml) of dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup soda water or lemon-lime soda (for sweetness)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 apple, cored and diced (preferably Granny Smith for a tart flavor)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop.
- In a large pitcher, pour in the entire bottle of dry white wine.
- Add the 1/4 cup of brandy to the pitcher.
- Pour in the 1/4 cup of orange liqueur.
- Add the 1/4 cup of simple syrup. Adjust to taste.
- Stir the mixture gently with a long spoon to combine all the ingredients.
- Thinly slice the orange, lemon, and lime, and add them to the pitcher.
- Add the sliced strawberries for sweetness and color.
- Toss in the pineapple chunks (drained if canned).
- Core and dice the apple, preferably using Granny Smith for tartness.
- Stir gently to ensure all the fruits are well distributed.
- Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid.
- Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
- About 30 minutes before serving, take the pitcher out of the fridge to slightly warm up.
- Just before serving, add the soda water or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher.
- Stir gently to combine, being careful not to over-stir.
- Taste the sangria and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Use your favorite wine glasses or large goblets.
- Fill each glass with ice cubes to keep the sangria chilled.
- Pour the sangria into the glasses, ensuring each glass gets a good mix of fruit.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
