Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup soda water or lemon-lime soda (for sweetness)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
  • 1 apple, cored and diced (preferably Granny Smith for a tart flavor)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour in the entire bottle of dry white wine.
  3. Add the 1/4 cup of brandy to the pitcher.
  4. Pour in the 1/4 cup of orange liqueur.
  5. Add the 1/4 cup of simple syrup. Adjust to taste.
  6. Stir the mixture gently with a long spoon to combine all the ingredients.
  7. Thinly slice the orange, lemon, and lime, and add them to the pitcher.
  8. Add the sliced strawberries for sweetness and color.
  9. Toss in the pineapple chunks (drained if canned).
  10. Core and dice the apple, preferably using Granny Smith for tartness.
  11. Stir gently to ensure all the fruits are well distributed.
  12. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid.
  13. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
  14. About 30 minutes before serving, take the pitcher out of the fridge to slightly warm up.
  15. Just before serving, add the soda water or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher.
  16. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to over-stir.
  17. Taste the sangria and adjust sweetness if needed.
  18. Use your favorite wine glasses or large goblets.
  19. Fill each glass with ice cubes to keep the sangria chilled.
  20. Pour the sangria into the glasses, ensuring each glass gets a good mix of fruit.
  21. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of simple syrup or soda.
  • You can substitute fruits based on your preference or seasonal availability.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine and brandy with sparkling grape juice and additional soda.
