  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Indulge in the cozy flavors of the holiday season with this delightful Peppermint White Chocolate Drink. Creamy and sweet, it’s topped with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies, making it the perfect warm treat to enjoy by the fireplace.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (whole or your preferred alternative)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (plus extra for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from scorching on the bottom.
  2. Once the mixture begins to steam (but not boil), reduce the heat to low. Add the white chocolate chips and stir continuously until melted and smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the peppermint extract and vanilla extract, stirring well to combine.
  4. Stir in the crushed peppermint candies until well incorporated.
  5. Continue to heat on low for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Avoid boiling.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
  7. Pour the warm mixture into mugs, filling them about three-quarters full.
  8. Top generously with whipped cream and sprinkle with extra crushed peppermint candies and chocolate shavings if desired.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality white chocolate.
  • Add a splash of coffee or espresso for a peppermint mocha twist.
  • Adjust peppermint extract to taste.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated gently on the stove.
  • Try adding flavored syrup for a fun twist.
