Description
Refreshing homemade coffee drink with smooth cold brew, rich mint chocolate syrup, milk, and optional whipped cream.
Ingredients

- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee (dark roast preferred)
- 4 cups cold, filtered water
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or preferred sweetener, adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Chocolate shavings or chocolate syrup (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh mint sprigs (optional, for garnish)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine coarsely ground coffee and cold, filtered water. Stir well to submerge all grounds.
- Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours (ideally 18-24 hours).
- Strain using cheesecloth, a coffee filter, or a French press to remove grounds. Discard grounds.
- Transfer concentrate to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
- In a medium saucepan, combine cocoa powder, sugar, peppermint extract, and salt.
- Add 1 cup of water to the saucepan.
- Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved and cocoa powder is incorporated.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of cold brew concentrate over the ice. Adjust to taste.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of mint chocolate syrup to the glass. Adjust to taste.
- Pour about 1 cup of milk into the glass, leaving room for topping.
- Stir to combine all ingredients.
- Add a dollop of whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings/syrup and a mint sprig.

Notes
- Adjust sweetness and mintiness to your preference.
- For a stronger coffee, use more concentrate or steep longer.
- For a weaker coffee, use less concentrate or dilute with more milk.
