This Strawberry Jasmine Iced Tea is a refreshing blend of floral jasmine green tea, sweet strawberries, and a hint of lemon, making it the perfect drink for warm days and gatherings. Enjoy it over ice, garnished with fresh mint for a delightful and visually appealing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons jasmine green tea leaves (or 4 jasmine green tea bags)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey (or to taste)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot.
  2. Remove the boiling water from heat and add the jasmine green tea leaves or tea bags. Let steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea into a heatproof pitcher if using loose leaves, or simply remove the tea bags.
  4. While the tea is warm, stir in the honey until completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the tea.
  6. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin pieces.
  7. Combine the sliced strawberries with a tablespoon of honey in a small bowl and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Allow the sweetened jasmine tea to cool to room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  9. Add the macerated strawberries and their juices to the cooled tea.
  10. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the strawberry jasmine tea over the ice.
  11. Add fresh mint leaves to each glass for a beautiful presentation and refreshing aroma.
  12. Serve immediately in clear glasses to showcase the vibrant color and floating strawberries.
  13. Store any leftover tea in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  14. Pour the tea over fresh ice when ready to enjoy leftovers, adding more strawberries or mint if desired.
  15. Experiment with peaches, raspberries, or a splash of orange juice for a unique twist.
  16. Try adding fresh basil or lavender syrup for a different flavor profile.

Notes

  • For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea for an additional minute or two, but avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
  • Adjust the amount of honey based on your sweetness preference.
