Enjoy the deliciousness of Honey Butter Toast, featuring thick-cut bread generously spread with creamy honey butter and topped with fresh fruit. This simple yet satisfying treat is ideal for breakfast or a sweet snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche or sourdough recommended)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey (preferably local)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh fruit for topping (sliced bananas, strawberries, blueberries, etc.)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter.
  2. Pour in the honey, using a spatula to scrape every last drop.
  3. Add the ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
  4. Blend the mixture using a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as desired.
  6. Transfer to a small serving bowl and set aside (refrigerate if making ahead).
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or prepare a skillet.
  8. Lay the thick-cut bread slices on a baking sheet or have the skillet ready.
  9. Spread a generous amount of honey butter on one side of each slice.
  10. If baking, place in the oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. If using a skillet, cook buttered side down for 3-4 minutes, then flip.
  11. Remove the toast from the oven or skillet and let it cool for a minute.
  12. Spread more honey butter on the toasted side if desired.
  13. Add your choice of fresh fruit on top.
  14. Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
  15. Dust with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
