Description

Delight in these soft and buttery garlic knots made from pizza dough, brushed with a savory garlic butter mixture, and baked until golden. Ideal for appetizers or snacks, they are sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using store-bought pizza dough, remove it from the packaging and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. If making homemade pizza dough, prepare it according to your favorite recipe and allow it to rise until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  5. Take one strip of dough, tie it into a knot, and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining strips, leaving space between each knot.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.
  7. If desired, mix in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
  8. Using a pastry brush, generously brush the garlic butter mixture over each garlic knot, reserving some for later.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the garlic knots for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through for even cooking.
  10. Once golden brown, remove the knots from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
  11. While still warm, brush the knots again with the reserved garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with additional chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  12. Serve the garlic knots warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, feel free to experiment with different herbs or spices in the garlic butter mixture.
  • These garlic knots can also be frozen before baking. Just thaw and bake when ready to enjoy!
