- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (if using breadcrumbs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and membranes.
- Place the halved jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Generously fill each jalapeño half with the cheese and bacon mixture.
- (Optional) In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil until evenly coated. Sprinkle over the stuffed jalapeños.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with ranch dressing or a spicy dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding diced jalapeño seeds or hot sauce to the filling.
- You can substitute turkey bacon for a healthier option or skip the bacon for a vegetarian version.
- These poppers can also be grilled for a different flavor profile.
